Why turmeric and black pepper are the perfect match

Turmeric is a popular ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine with numerous health benefits. It is filled with antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, antiseptic agents, anti-fungal agents and anti-bacterial agents.

Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which contains all of these amazing health benefits. The problem is when turmeric is consumed, the compound is metabolised and passed through the urine before you can absorb the benefits.

But there is a solution!… Black pepper! (Organic of course).

I use native Australian mountain pepper because sourcing from your backyard is always the best option.

When you ingest turmeric with black pepper it enhances the bio-availability of curcumin. Black pepper contains a compound pipeline which slows our liver from metabolising the curcumin too quickly.

So when you think turmeric remember she has a partner and you best make sure to combine the two!
