Caretaker Couple
We are looking for an enthusiastic couple for a live in position to help maintain our beautiful property and maintain a high standard of service.It is imagined that one person will assume a Front of House Duty Manager role and the other person a property maintenance role.
Duties
- Reception and customer service work
- Overseeing room, retreat & food presentation and quality control
- Property maintenance and repairs
- Emergency overnight call outs
Role
- Approx. 32 hours per week per person
- Property maintenance will include Saturday and Sunday work
- 1 year contract with option to extend
- 3 bed house provided at no cost
- Lunch and dinner provided on working days
- Combined salary + super + leave entitlements (email for details)
- Start date: Immediate
- Reporting to Retreat Director / GM – Operations
Requirements
- One person must have front of house / hospitality / reception experience
- One person must have maintenance experience
- Children, pets and more than 2 visitors are not permitted

Head Retreat Host
We are looking for a passionate wellness professional to oversee our yoga, meditation and wellness program at the retreat.
Duties
- Teaching yoga, meditation and other wellness workshops
- Curating new programs and offerings
- Creating social media content and online courses
- Organising and training other retreat hosts and yoga teachers
- Acting as Retreat Host for our weekly Wed to Fri program
- Duty Manager overnight Wed & Thu nights
Role
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Staying over Wed & Thu nights
- 40 hours per week
- 1 year contract with option to extend
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided on working days

- Start date: January 2025

Requirements
- 5yrs + yoga & meditation teaching experience

Front Desk Representative
Front Desk Receptionist – Maternity Cover
We’re looking for a welcoming and friendly Front Desk Receptionist for a Maternity Cover Role to handle receptionist and office tasks at our Retreat. As the face of Billabong Retreat, you will play a key role in shaping our first impression.
The ideal candidate will have a positive, kind and easy going personality, whilst also being capable, detail oriented and disciplined. It’s essential to be skilled in managing complaints and providing information, with a strong customer-focused approach. An interest in yoga, health, and wellness will be highly valued.
Our goal is to make all guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued during their time with us.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests, check guests in and out, and orientate them to the retreat
- Answer questions, give suitable information and address or escalate complaints
- Answer incoming calls, respond or redirect them, keep and distribute messages
- Respond to and forward e-mails in a timely and professional manner
- Take payments and maintain financial tracking
- Retail sales from the Billabong Retreat Shop
- Assist Owner, General Manager, Reservations and Wellness Centre as required (administration, appointment schedules etc.)
Your days of work will be Sunday, Wednesday and Friday total 24 hours. Remuneration will be in line with Hospitality Award, classification Front Desk 2.
Requirements
- Proven experience/ training as front desk representative or similar customer facing role
- Familiarity with the use of office tools (e.g. printer etc.)
- Thorough knowledge of customer service, office work and basic bookkeeping procedures
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Strong communication and people skills
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Good problem-solving skills
- The ideal candidate would live within 30 minutes of Billabong Retreat.
Kitchen Hand
Casual Position Available. We are looking for a friendly and reliable kitchen hand to join our team on a part-time or casual basis.

- General cleaning duties within the kitchen or food preparation area.
- Cleaning kitchen utensils used in a kitchen.
Availability
- 25 to 35 hours per week.

Casual Housekeeper
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and fit housekeeper to provide a high level of cleaning throughout the retreat.
Jobs include:
- Making beds
- Cleaning cabins & public areas
- Assisting with packing and unpacking of linen
Availability:
The position is for 4-5 hours on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.
Due to the landscape of the property we require someone who is fit and able to carry equipment & linen around the estate as needed. Own transport required as there is very limited public transport in the area. No experience necessary, if you have a high attention to detail and can clean to a high standard in a set time frame then please apply.
Retreat Volunteers
We have an ongoing volunteer program where you can come and stay for free for a minimum of four-weeks in exchange for up to 6 hours work per day, 6 days per week helping out in the kitchen and with housekeeping. You are provided with a private room in our staff house. The staff house features a shared bathroom, kitchen and lounge area. All meals, drinks and snacks are provided as well as access to the yoga, meditation and mindfulness classes when not working.
