Enjoy the chorus of birds & frogs
The trees are full of birds including King parrots, Lorikeets, Rosellas, Kookaburras, Wagtails, Cockatoos, Bell Birds & Whip Birds and during the day it is a chorus of nature.
Huge sandstone rocks rise up from around the Billabong and the cabins and retreat centre perch on the escarpment, nesting in the trees overlooking the lotus garden.
If you are up early you will spot Black Wallabies, Blue Tongue & Monitor Lizards and if you are up late you can see Ring tail Possums, Sugar Gliders and micro bats.
At night the bush hums gently to the sound of Cicadas & frogs until the sun rises gently over the property, the lotus flowers blossom and the cycle starts again.
Billabong Retreat is certified eco nature Tourism by Eco Tourism Australia and is also a TAAl accredited Australian Quality Tourism Business and holder of a Department of Environment Eco-pass for running guided tours into the Wollemi National Park.
