Billabong Retreat is an award-winning wellness and mindfulness retreat located just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. We offer immersive programs in yoga, meditation, stress management, nutrition, and personal transformation surrounded by nature.
We are located at 41 McClymonts Road, Maraylya NSW 2765, near Windsor, approximately 45 minutes from Sydney’s city centre and 1 hour from Sydney Airport.
Unlike traditional hotels or resorts, Billabong Retreat is a purpose-built sanctuary for mindfulness and holistic wellbeing. Our programs combine science, spirituality, and sustainable living in a serene bushland setting overlooking a lotus-filled billabong.
Yes — our retreats are designed for all experience levels. Whether you’re new to yoga and meditation or a seasoned practitioner, our expert facilitators will guide you with care.
Our retreats are not suitable for children under 16 years or pets. We do not offer babysitting or child care services.
Yes around half our guests come on their own. All our rooms are private so you will not share. It can be a sociable welcoming place to make new friends but you will also be able to have valuable alone time.
Yes we have many rooms with twin beds that are suitable for friends to share
Yes anyone can do yoga. Our skilled teachers adapt the practice to suit the individual. Yoga is not about twisting into crazy posture, its about connecting to the body and breath.

Absolutely. We design each program based on your desired outcomes — from improving communication and resilience to rewarding staff with rest and rejuvenation.
Our retreat can host groups of up to 52 guests for overnight stays or up to 21 guests for day retreats.

We run ongoing programs including:
Accommodation, all meals, daily yoga and meditation sessions, workshops, and full use of retreat facilities are included.
Not at all — our philosophy is “do what feels right.” You’re welcome to rest, journal, or wander in nature whenever you wish.
We offer 1-night 2-night, 3-night, 5-night, and 7-night programs, as well as 1-day spa, wellness and corporate retreat experiences.
We offer Check in or out on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday or Friday only.
One night stays are only available Sunday night.
Two nights stays can be Mon to Wed, Wed to Fri or Fri to Sat
Three night stays can be Sun to Wed or Fri to Mon
Four night stays are Mon to Fri or Wed to Sun
Five night stays are Sun to Fri or Fri to Wed or Wed to Mon

For overnight stays arrival and check-in is from 2pm. There is a welcome talk at 3:15pm. Later arrivals are fine too.
For day visitors arrival and check-in is from 8:30am.
We offer early arrival options for overnight visitors and day guests for additional cost.
For overnight retreats room check-out is 9:15am on the last day. The retreat finishes after lunch with departure around 1pm. Late room check-out option is available for additional cost.
For day visitors check-out departure is around 5pm.
All meals are mostly plant-based, organic and locally sourced where possible. Our menu is designed to nourish, heal, and energise — prepared by our in-house chefs. We offer dairy and eggs and are industrial seed oil free.
Yes. We cater for most dietary needs, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and nut-free options. Please let us know your requirements when checking in online through your customer portal
We offer a range of options from luxury treehouse cabins to standard ensuite rooms and shared eco-cabins, all designed with natural materials and stunning bushland views.
All of our rooms and cabins are private and offer air conditioning and fans.
We offer rooms and cabins for all budgets ranging from simple private rooms with shared bathrooms, private rooms with ensuite, private standalone cabins with ensuites and our deluxe cabins with ensuites and indoor and outdoor baths.
We have rooms and cabins with one single bed, two single beds, three single beds, double bed, queen bed and king beds configurations.
Rooms and cabins can accommodate between one and three persons
We encourage digital detox — Wi-Fi is not available but guests will find phone reception is most areas especially with Telstra and Optus. Some rooms do not get phone signal.
Yes. All rooms have air conditioning and fans for summer and heating for winter, ensuring year-round comfort.
Two rooms (19 and 4) and common areas are wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss specific needs before booking. Note we are situated on steep cliffs and paths.
Use of devices is not permitted in public areas.
No all of our rooms are for private use only
All of our Cottage Rooms, Treehouse Rooms, Treehouse Twin & Triple Cabin & Deluxe Twin Cabins have two seperate beds – great for friends.
Deluxe Queen and king cabins have a sprung sofa bed with mattress.
Yes many of our rooms and cabins can be shared with a friend for a great experience and a lower price.
Cottage Rooms, Terrace Rooms, Treehouse Rooms, Deluxe Queen Cabins, Lodge Rooms & Deluxe King Cabins are all situated next to their same room or cabin type so if you book two or more of the same type with a friend, you will be automatically adjacent,
All of our Deluxe cabins have both outdoor bath overlooking the billabong and an additional indoor bath,
We don’t currently offer laundry facilities but there is a laundrette a 15 min drive away.
Unfortunately due to our limited onsite power we do not currently offer electric car charging
Yes we have a beautiful magnesium aqua therapy pool available all year. It is solar heated so can be quite chilly in the winter.
Swimming in the billabong is at your own risk
Yes we are a bush retreat and so insects are present. We find the mosquitos no worse than Sydney. All rooms have insect screens and we encourage all guests to keep their room doors and insect screen closed at all times
We have a huge selection of native and other wildlife including over 100 species of birds, sugar gliders, possums, deer, rock wallabies plus of course the usual Australia reptiles
Australia has a number of poisonous spiders and snakes and Billabong retreat is no different.
In our fifteen years of operation we have never had a problem.
We dont recommend creeping through the bush quietly at night! It is always good to let our snake and spider friends have time to get away – thats what they want!
If you happen to see a snake then simply slowly back away. They really dont wont to hurt us.
Yes — our wellness therapists provide massages, facials, and holistic therapies including Reiki. Treatments should be booked before your stay at time of booking, through your online customer portal or via email.
Therapies are optional and priced separately, though some premium retreat packages may sometimes include treatments.
We don’t offer couples massage but we can try and schedule your spa treatments at the same time

We’re an easy 45-minute drive from Sydney CBD. You can drive or take the train to Vineyard or Rouse Hill Station, where you can take a short 10 min taxi ride (approx $30)
Yes, free guest parking is available on site. One car per room.
Guests can take a taxi from the airport for approximately $150. Otherwise guests can take the train from the airport to Vineyard (1.5hrs) and then take a short 10 min ($30) taxi ride
Everything is provided so just yourself, perhaps a water bottle, some loose comfortable clothing, warm clothing if winter and dont forget the swimmers!

Yes we offer gift vouchers with instant delivery for all amounts that are valid for 36 months and can be used in part or whole.
All guests need to agree to our terms and sign a waiver liability release.
We welcome guests with most health conditions, though some retreats may involve physical movement. Please note the site is rocky with many uneven surfaces and cliffs and bodies of water. Please contact us beforehand if you have any health concerns.
Yes — many of our programs are gentle and suitable during pregnancy. Please inform us in advance so facilitators can tailor practices.
No — we are an alcohol-free retreat to support deep relaxation and mindfulness.
Due to bushfire considerations smoking is strictly only permitted in two designated areas of the retreat
Yes — sustainability is at our core. We use rainwater, eco-waste systems, and natural materials throughout the property. We were the winners of the Best Eco Retreat in NSW
We source local produce, support nearby artisans, and collaborate with wellbeing practitioners across Sydney. We have been supporting local social enterprise Warrah Biodynamic Farm for over fifteen years,
