Helpful tips for anxiety

by our resident naturopath Anne Currenti

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but the good news is that there are simple, practical ways to bring calm into your daily life. At Billabong Retreat, we encourage small, consistent steps that make a big difference:

1/ Deep Breathing: Try box breathing—inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 8. Repeat 6 cycles throughout the day to soothe your nervous system, not just when stress peaks.

2/ Move Your Body: Exercise helps burn off stress hormones and release tension. Even gentle movement can make a noticeable difference.

3/ Nourish Your Nervous System: Certain minerals, vitamins, and herbs can support relaxation and reduce anxiety symptoms.

4/ Build Your Support Team: Therapies like NET, counseling, or psychology offer professional guidance. Having trusted people to work with can help you cultivate lasting peace and calm.

Anxiety is part of life, but with mindful practices, movement, nourishment, and support, you can create a calmer, more centered daily rhythm.
